杨一

杨一，1969年出生于粤北某山区小镇，对他来说，”客家人”已经不只是一个血缘符号 ，它似乎先天地隐喻了他今后的漂泊。

1992 年，高考屡遭挫败的杨一离开了广东，抛开他温暖的童年记忆和少年发财梦，开始以北京的美术馆为中心，西至天山南北、东到烟雨江南、北抵黄土高原、南达巴山蜀水的街头卖唱生涯。在社会这所无所不包的大学，杨一不仅学到了质朴而尖锐的音乐，更学到了如何在歌唱中接近引车卖浆之徒、打工行乞之辈诚挚的内心，由
一个凭本事吃饭的歌手成长为一位在民间有口皆碑的人民音乐家。

杨一把美国六十年代的民谣精神和中国大地上沉默以久的下层民众的声音糅合在一起，创造出了中国新音乐中最有震撼力的一部分，其深远的意义必将被证实。

Yang Yi

Yang Yi was born in a small village in the northern mountains of Guangdong, in the land of the “Ke Jia” people. To him, “Ke Jia” (literally “living as guest”) is marked in blood: it may be the reason for the wandering and drifting that he has done for most of his life.

In 1992, Yang Yi left Guangdong after failure to enter university, leaving behind his warm childhood memories and dreams of being rich. He started his life of singing on the street, taking as his center the National Gallery in Beijing. He went all across China: from Xingjiang to Jiangnan, and most places in between. Yang Yi has learned a lot from his experience of being a street singer. His music is simple and unadorned, but sharp and penetrating. His songs are close to the hearts of street merchants, migrant workers, and beggars: he is a true musician of the people.

Yang Yi combines the spirit of the 1960’s folk music in America with the sound of the lower classes, long silent in China. He creates the most exciting and thrilling new music in China, whose importance will be recognized in future.
